Wallace Carl Riddick Papers 1913 - 1980

Wallace Carl Riddick (1862-1942) served as President of North Carolina State College from 1916 to 1923. In 1920, he admitted two Serbian students to the College, which led to his being awarded the Officer's Cross of the Order of St. Sava by King Alexander of Yugoslavia in 1931. The Wallace Carl Riddick Papers contain newspaper clippings, correspondence, and other materials related to the students, as well as the text of a speech given by Riddick in 1913.

John T. Caldwell was born in Yazoo City, Mississippi on December 11, 1911. He earned a bachelor of science degree from Mississippi State College (1932), master's degrees from Duke University (1936) and Columbia University (1937) and a doctoral degree in political science from Princeton University (1939) as a Julius Rosenwald Fellow. Wallace Carl Riddick (1864-1942).
